Photo Gallery: NY Event for Design Community

Posted on November 11, 2010 by Nora DePalma

November 2010:  O’Reilly/DePalma was asked by a division of our American Standard Brands client to secure architect, designer and media attendance at a new product launch event in a midtown Manhattan showroom.  Wendy Silverstein in New York managed the event planning, connecting the client to the right influencers in the New York design community.

Final attendance exceeded the expectations of the showroom and exceeded the success metric for attendance the client set as a goal. Client quote:  “The attendance was not only great in quantity, but even better in quality.  They genuinely liked what they saw and had a good time.”

Excelsior Fire District Hosts 1,200 at Live Sprinkler Demonstration

Posted on October 12, 2010 by John OReilly

To help mark National Fire Prevention Week, the Excelsior, Minn., Fire District hosted a dramatic, side-by-side demonstration of two room fires – one equipped with fire sprinklers and the other without – as part of its Fire Prevention Open House and Safety Fair on Thursday evening, Oct. 7, 2010. More than 1,200 local residents attended the event.

The Open House event culminated with firefighters simultaneously lighting fires in two similarly sized and furnished rooms, one sprinklered and the other not.

“By providing this unique live fire comparison, our residents gained an appreciation for the aggressive nature of home fires and realized what an incredible advantage it is to have a home fire sprinkler system,” says Excelsior Fire District Fire Inspector Kellie Murphy-Ringate.

Photo Gallery: American Standard Brands Participates in World Water Day

Posted on March 23, 2010 by Nora DePalma

American Standard Brands took  a stand for global safe drinking water and basic sanitation for all, by standing up 12 high-efficiency toilets outside the U.S. Capitol on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 as part of a Guinness World Record attempt to create the World’s Longest Toilet Queue.

Alexandra Cousteau, granddaughter of the famous ocean explorer, and singer/actress Mandy Moore got in the queue, posing with our toilets in images that were featured on the USA Today website and Perez Hilton among other coverage of World Water Day identified by Google.

The event is part of two days of activities to support World Water Day (March 22), with toilet queues being set up in Europe and Asia, as well as North America, to draw attention to WASH, an acronym for water, sanitation and hygiene. Lack of access to fresh clean water, the world’s largest environmental health crisis, kills 4,500 children every day.
