Once a hot spot for local high society and visiting celebrities, the Mayo Hotel in Tulsa, Okla., struggled to regain its fading, grand-hotel glory until recently when it was fully restored, using Uponor AquaPEX PEX-a pipe throughout its 102 hotel rooms and 70 apartments. Jayson Drake, director of plumbing and fire safety at Uponor North America, explains the project in an article recently featured in Commerical Building Products magazine. Approximately 70,000 feet of AquaPEX was installed for the plumbing system and another 51,000 feet of Wirsbo hePEX was used for the Mayo’s hydronic heating and cooling runs.
