The Facebook Wedding

“Oh, you’re Nora, I recognize you from Facebook!  Nice to meet you in person!”

At my Green Earth PR colleague’s wedding reception Saturday night, I learned why it’s called “social” media.  I met people I’d never met before, but I pre-knew them.  Thanks to Facebook.

i had quite a few friends at the reception, most of whom I correspond with on Facebook.  Since we regularly post on each other’s pages-complete with our names and profile pictures-I immediately recognized and was recognized by several people in my friends’ social circles.  Instant comfort!  (Make that instant southern comfort.  We were in Savannah.)
